It's been with me for 48 years now brought into the country along with a couple of 375H&H rifles by a mercenary returning from the Rhodesian bush war. In his words, he never got the time to use the 404 on 4 legged creatures as he was too busy dealing with the 2 legged variety.
As you can see it still has the full charger hump so the tail of the extractor is not exposed as in some conversions where the charger is ground away to accommodate the longer 404 cartridge. The face of the receiver ring has also not been altered i.e. not scalloped to accommodate the longer cartridge bullet nose when loading or ejecting cartridges which it does perfectly everytime.
The scope, mounted as it is, makes charging the three round magazine easy with a fourth round able to be controlled fed from the top of the magazine into the chamber.

Overall it is a light and slick operating rifle, one I would have full confidence with in any dangerous game situation.
