We were spotlight shooting one night and as we went through a gate a Quail took off but only flew 20 ft and landed in front of the Ute, right in the headlight. When the guy who was shooting got back up, I told him to shoot the quail. He mumbled something about "Blowing it apart" so I said you need to "head shoot it". He fired but forgot that at 20 ft you need to aim slightly high to allow for where the scope above the bore. Well the bullet hit the back of the bird and pooof, feathers everywhere. No quail on toast over the camp fire that night !!! 500 Nitro |
