Re: Head to Head: 9.3x62mm Mauser vs. .375 H&H Magnum

Not a bad article for a newbie. A reasonable comparison.

I can't see a 380 gr working in a .375 H&H Mag. I'm yet to try the 350 gr Woodleighs myself.

9.3/.366 goes up to at least 320 gr, again Woodleighs.

I have liked the idea of acquiring a 9.3x62 rifle or a barrel. But in reality if one already has a .375 H&H Magnum, one simply does not need one. One already has the better cartridge.

A 9.3x62 might be made more handy, shorter, lighter.

My .375H&H Mag isn't a magnum length action. It's standard. One must seat the projectiles in deep enough to fit and cartridges must be inserted in a particular way. Familiarity with any rifle is important. My Whitworth M98 .375 isn't overly heavy or bulky and the barrel is quite short for the cartridgde.

The 9.3x64 is the proper cartridge for a comparison.

But in the end ONLY the .375 is legal ina number of African jurisdictions and more than those mentioned in the article.

All three do the job.
