Quote: The Russians don’t offer a TIGR rifle in 9.3x64 for export. They are offered in 7.62x54R and .308 only. https://bx.kalashnikovgroup.ru/upload/uf/b85/Civilian%20products%20Kalashnikov.pdf As Russia is not a CIP member, they are free to “proof” their guns for any load they want, if those guns are sold on their domestic market only. In Russia the weak Barnaul loads are available only. If they exported their 9.3x64 rifles to any European country, the guns would have to be proofed for the full power, high pressure RWS loads. The 9.3x64 TIGR rifles will probably not blow up,but will soon beat themselves to death if used with full power German loads. Barnaul lists the pressure of their 9.3x64 load at 3800 bar. That’s less than the CIP maximum working pressure of the old 7x57 Mauser, 3900 bar. The German 9.3x64 Brenneke loads are 4400 bar max. |
