Another stock option is BoydBoys. The JRS is an excellent desgin for a Mauser action'd rifle. I've several of these stocks and with up to a .375mag ballistics, my laminated stock didn't need cross-bolts. : The recoil is considerably less than .375. My 9.3X62 comercial 98 Mauser (post war), ran up to 2,518fps with 286gr. Norma RN's. I found BLc2 to be the best powder for it, bar none. : Presently, I've just built up a .375/06 ICL IMP with .460", 40 degree shoulder, that runs only 100fps behind the H&H. It-too, kicks less than the H&H due to less powder being used. It's capacity is only 2gr. more than the Sako 9.3X62 brass.(80gr. vs 78gr.- fired cases) : I put a Bushnel Elite 3200 2-7 on my .375, as the rainguard feature is very nice for our wet spring and fall seasons. The scope is more than up to the recoil as they are tested with .375H&H mag & guaranteed against recoil failure). THAT was a deciding factor for me, along with price and excellent quality of my other 3200 Elite. |
