It is not uncommon to find used .375's and heavier rifles that are basically new and up for sale on consignment.

Not certain how much that .375 pre '64 M70 is going for in mint condition but there are probably a lot of them that have either never been used or at most have had a box or two of factory ammunition put through them in 50 years.

As 500 Nitro mentioned, if it had been used much it would probably have a split stock. Finn Aagard mentioned this as well in an article he wrote years ago, wherein he told of Kenyans who were repairing their split stocks via a homemade glass bedding job on their m70 .375's with fibreglass autobody filler (aka Bondo).
