If the rifle is properly pillar and glass bedded - ie solidly bedded, any good bolt action rifle, with the simple addition of appropriate screw driver or allen / torx wrench can easily be taken down with minimal zero problems. A good detachable scope mount also helps, but if you can leave the scope attached, then so much the better. If you are travelling a short case is far more convenient than a long one. When it comes to the other end, good practice means you should always check the zero before going hunting. If you are wanting a true breakdown rifle that can be carried in a pack, then that's the job for a break action rifle, but again I would leave the scope attached if possible. |
