I used to shoot with a tall lanky guy years ago. At that time he had two Browning safaris in .375 and .458 but earlier he'd experimented with Wearherby cartridges. He pinched a nerve in his neck firing the .378 and spoke of Weatherby rifles as having 'faster', stabbing recoil. I had a .300 weatherby at one time and felt the same way. I think it comes down to the weight of the rifles. No doubt the .378 is a teeth rattler in the stock rifle. It might be tolerable in a 10.5 pound well fitted rifle, but I prefer the slower stuff. |
