Re: Which is the best big game bullet?

I've had bad experiences with loads for pigs in 458 and 375 magnums with lighter projectiles.
In the 375 it was with 235 grain soft points and 400 grain softies in the 458. Both bullets were the same brand name.
Both were loaded to the recommended velocities.
Penetration was pitiful, in some cases less than 2 inches.
The 235 grainers(375mag) were supposed to be ok for elk/deer and the 400 grain 458's for"large game".
I'm very wary of "light for cal" conventional projectiles.

Thesedays I rely on Woodleigh Weldcore bullets for all my serious hunting.
I reckon they're a serious bullet, and now there is a huge range of calibres and weights and styles to choose from.
