I chrono'd the DWM factory 293g load and got 2,480fps from a 25" barrel. The primers were flowing to fill the primer pockets - I guess this is what happens when when you have ballistics within 50fps and 7gn of the 375H&H with a case with 10 grains less water capacity. Accuracy was excellent - less than 1" horizontal dispersion and 2" vertical at 200 yards. The rifle is a Mauser 66 which has a very reliable bedding system and I suspect that the vertical was my variable holding of the stock.

I'm a bit concerned about pressure in the Western Queensland heat (I'm going next week) so I'll take some 247gn Factory loads which chrono at 2,680fps and show much less evidence of high pressure.

I'll let you know how they perform - (unless all the game is really cooperative and I take everything with the 470 ).
