NE450, Thanks - that sounds promising. The 9.3x64 is the "odd one out" in terms of 9.3 ballistics with about 300fps higher velocity than the others with the 286gn or 293gn projectile. It is interesting (?scary) that ballistics exceed 375H&H but with less than 90% of the case capacity. I've taken pigs and goats with the 250gn Barnes X with good effect and may go back to that load when I've used up the factory ammo - although X bullets are getting really expensive in Oz - $US150/100 in large calibres. Woodleighs are recommended for lower velocities than possible in the 9.3x64 but I've corresponded with Geoff McDonald and he is sure that the 250gn will hold up at the higher velocities. Did the 293 projectile expand in the doe? I hope that the round will be ok in like framed goats as well as camels and big pigs. mike |
