I bought my 416 RSM for $1200 and I see them frequently offered in the $1500+/- range.

Granted, they are not magnum Mausers by any means but I have often wondered what could be achieved with a simple reshape of the stock (which is terrible) and slicking up the action.
If restocking, maybe an Oberndorf style bolt and redoing the bridges to look more Mauser like too.
Might end up with a pretty decent looking and handling DG rifle.
