Has anyone considered building a .465H&H on a standard Mauser 98 action. The cases can be made from .460WBY brass and bullets are available from Wooleigh. It has approximately the same length as a .404Jeffrey. A drop box mag could hold 3-4 cartridges and even though it is a recent development (2003) it still has the H&H pedigree. 480gr bullets at 2375fps for 6012ft-lbs at lower pressures than a Lott. Left to right: .375 H&H,.400H&H, .465H&H
My .375 H&H Mag is made on a standard M98 action. It works OK, however, cartridges need to be made to "length" and also feed in to the magazine at an "angle".
I wonder as I thought the .465 H&H Mag needed a longer action? If cartridges are at a .404 length however, maybe you are right.
