You don't realise what these rounds are doing until as you say you see them skipping over a thousand yards like rocks on a pond.

I was mainly asking in relation to the damage on the game. If it was ball that makes sense. I have never used the 50BMG on animals but would imagine a .510 hunting bullet or even one of the spitzers like the hawk bullets would be a lot more ruinous to a deers body.
