I presume he is planning to carry the rifle with the scope dismounted and will be only be using it for more leisurely longer range shots. This would be the only sensible plan, since the stock is clearly designed to position the shooter's face in line with the open sights, and will offer little support when he is peering through the scope. Not an ideal setup for rapid target acquisition in the event of a charging lion or buffalo!

It never ceases to amaze me that someone who would probably accept his tailor's advice in having a suit fitted would fail to listen to his gun maker's advice when ordering a fine firearm, especially since his life may depend upon getting the latter design right.
