Re: 600 NE Rifle

G' day from the U.S.A.!

I'm new to this forum (1st posting).

The Thompson Encore will handle the .600 Nitro cartridge but the barrel blank has to be custom made for the gun maker (very expensive).

I have an SSK Encore .50-140 sharps (3-1/4") (smokeless) pistol with 16" barrel (stainless). I've loaded both 535 gr Woodleigh jacketed bullets, and 700 gr BMG bullets. It's actually pleasant to shoot (at least my psycho-analyst said I'm cured ).

I am presently having made a .600 Nitro pistol on the Encore frame (16" stainless) (maybe, I'm NOT SO CURED ). The 16" barrel is costing me US$1026.50 (WITHOUT sights or muzzle brake). The barrel blank cost the gun maker US$521.50 (for 18.5"), so for a rifle barrel (26" & up), well, you do the math.

When the pistol is done and I've shot it, I'll post some info. and maybe pictures if someone shows me how to do that without the benefit of my own webpage.

Let me know what you all think.

Bob
