The CZ Safari Magnum is a production gun assembled in chek republic and cost around $1200. They have a long 25" barrel, no choice. These guns need to be checked out closely prior to hunting.

The CZ Safari Classics is built to customer spec (barrel weight and length, grade of wood, sights, etc) and assembled (with extra attention)in St Louis USA and generally cost 2x or 3x the price of the above. I have both, the Classic is a much better gun. At least mine is and I got a shorter barrel length. Bottom line, you get what you pay for. You can even request special order calibers, like 450 Rigby if you want. You talk to a person and get exactly what you want built!

The 458 lott will handle both Win mag and Lott ammo. I do have a Lott in what was a $1000 Safari Magnum and it feeds Win mag and Lott interchangeably no problem (maybe I got lucky). Point of impact varies, as you would expect. The Win mag is same magnum length action, but will not chamber the Lott. In this gun, the Lott makes a lot more sense, IMHO.

You can get a catalog printed on paper. That makes all this clear. You are in Australia. That might complicate getting a classic. The classic will require you speak on the telephone to St Louis USA, as about shipping.

IMHO, paying custom prices and shipping problems for a 458 may not be worth it to you. Maybe less hassle to have the barrel cut down locally. Think about a LOTT.
