Apologize if there is another post on this I couldn't find it. I recently re-acquired a Gibbs Summit Carbine in .45-70. I bought it brand new in 2003 and had it for about two years before selling it to my father. He recently passed so I thought I would start using it again as a saddle gun or the like. My question is where to get a stock other than Boyd's? It currently has the Williams sight (mounted on a cant from the factory) , but there is NO cheek weld at all and beats the hell out of your face. The rifle is semi-rough but is a good basis to start from. I would like to end up with a two leaf express rear and decent looking wood but it will be getting knocked around some. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. |
