You can always reinforce the wrist which is not a bad idea anyway. You can either drill and epoxy in a hardwood dowel or as I usually do use a 5/16" drillbit and just epoxy the bit in. The length is almost exactly the right length and the flutes give space for the Acraglas to give good coverage. I don't have big hands so I like small diameters at the wrist. I know several top stockers who use a dowel.
