Agree with vapodog about not putting much stock in what the great Mr. Echols will and will not do. What does a guy who refuses to put QD mounts on a DG rifle know about hunting? For the kind of money he charges, I'd prefer to get what I want and not what He thinks I should have. As for the 416 Rigby Mod 70, I'd buy one and if it ain't right, it'd keep going back till it was. Did that on a 375 and they finally got it right.
