Thank you for the information about the groove and bore. My barrel is marked on the bottom;

"BS 10.45 . 10.75 . 420"

Would you have any idea what the "BS" stands for? I'm sure its not "Buck Stix".

I've thought about a replacement buttplate, but then I'm thinking that its been such a long time since it had one, I'm going to just leave it as is. With the edges being so rounded, I would have to cut a slice off the stock to get to crisp edges, and I think that would look like a "new" modification. I like the "Old World Look" that it now has. Maybe I'll come up with something to dress up the holes.
