Sorry I've been so long in replying, but have been busy with the DALLAS SAFARI CLUB CONVENTION! By the way there were lost of folks who post here, at the show! Good time, had by all! In reply to: You know, 4seventy, you are a cheeky fellow! Though you already know thw answer to your question, here it is! NO! My ammo did not go missing, but if it had, I knew if the 458 WIN MAG ammo would work in my rifle. I think it is a little lax on the part of a client hunter who is traveling by airplane to a hunt, to not know what will, and will not work in his rifle, before he leaves! I DO! The other thing you questioned about traveling to Africa by car! I think you know what was meant by my post in that regard. You had made comment about driveing 12 hours to your hunts for the water boys up north, and not looseing your ammo. It is somewhat different for the guy that changes planes tree or four times, in three or four different countries, on a trip from a little ranch comunity, in Texas to a camp on the Luangwa River in Zambia. If his ammo is lost, he is in real trouble, if it isn't something that can be picked up redily in Mfuwe, Zambia, a mud village with "ONE" general store, that will have only 375 H&H, 30-06, and 458 Win Mag ammo, if they have any at all, it will most likely be 375 H&H, and 458 WM. It makes little difference whether one agrees or not, but the fact is, in my experience, there is no problem with the feeding of factory 458 WM ammo, in a Lott chambered rifle, if it feeds the LOTT properly. I any event, the next time I drive to Africa, I'll make sure not to have my ammo go missing |
