wharf, Before I got into the larger calibres, I went from a 222 to a 30-06 and I thought that kicked like a mule !!! I then went to a 9.3 x 64 and that was worse. As I learnt how to shoot the bigger bores and handle recoil better, now the 500 J, 505 Gibbs and 500 Nitro are no problems at all. I concur with Mike, if it is your first bigger bore, that is definately another reason to go 375H&H - if you don't like it, it's easier to offload as well. Very few Brno's have been shot a lot - they may not look that good on the outside as they get carried by Deer Hunters alot but generally the bores are great. Anything under $1000 is OK. Try to get a Brno 602 as opposed to the current CZ550. Also, Try to get the Brno Scope Rings that originaly cam e with the gun if you can. Hope this helps 500 Nitro |
