Re: 45-70 Marlin for Cape Buffalo?

Bonanza,

Hope you liked the site........The PAC Elephant has gone up a bit since last year, (the increase was the lease holders and not ours!) but the price is still pretty good if you're happy not to have the trophies..........however, it's tougher hunting than the other parts of Africa we operate in.

My favourite county to hunt in is Tanzania where we've just expanded our operation from one area in the Selous and another in Masailand to four in Selous and two in Masailand. Hunting there is simply out of this world and a year or two ago we filmed a herd of over 1000 Buff.....it was quite simply breathtaking. Tanzania isn't the cheapest option, but I reckon it's the very best.......just be cautious about which area you hunt as some are better than others.

Botswana is another good option for Elephant. Usually the trophy fee is on a sliding scale dependant on tusk size, but the late season hunts we have are a fixed trophy fee of US$5000 whatever the size. We have two left, but they'll sell out at the convention if not before.

............470 double huh. Great calibre......sounds to me like it might need a bit of excercise on something big and ugly! If you feel an Elephant hunt might be too adventurous for your first safari, maybe you should consider a Buff hunt. Tanzania is one of the very few countries that allows 2 Buff & plains game on a 7 day licence.

I try not to sell on the forum as I feel it abuses John's wonderful hospitality, also I don't believe in the hard sell, but if you would like any further info please feel free to send me an e-mail.

Incidentally, LOVE the signature!!!
