Sounds like you want to build something similar to what I have as my 'working' big game rifle. Mine is a Mk. X Mauser .458 WM, in a B&C Medallist stock, 24" barrel, with a Leupy VX3 1.5-5x20 heavy duplex in Warne QD's and irons as backup. I like it a lot, might not be a big-dollar rifle but it's rugged and it works.
