.500 Barnes Supreme, same case - .460 WTBY. The fellow's rifle in .505 Barnes Supreme that I shot as a 22year old kid, was a new ZKK 602 in .375 that had been re-barreled. I bought the original unfired .375 barrel w/sights for $50.00 - I think it was. I do recall his box of ammo was marked 125gr. IMR3031, 600gr. Barnes FMJ .049" 2,600fps, but that might have been an estimate. Few people then had chronographs, but our club did. Do not quote nor use that data as-is - it's from memory only and was scribbled on a piece of paper, from 40 years ago. I do not know if that was excessive, hot, medium or light (sounds hot) - it made my .375 BRNO feel like a .22 Hornet. I do recall the rifle weighed less than 9 pounds - he said 8 1/2 with it's 4X Weaver. |
