The reason I wondered is that the gun shoots low even with the 300 Yd. leaf. It did occur that since the post was so slim, the intent may have been to put the top of the post even with the top of the vee. The ramp then comes up to the bottom of the vee. I believe it would not be a hard sight picture to hold elevation with. I have extensive experience with aperature sights (Old Hi Power shooter) and wondered if that type of sight picture was intended. It would allow you to see the target better than nestling the bead in the notch. The heavy grease does sound like it might work. I'll try that. |
