My oldest double rifle is a 20-bore/.577 Alexander Henry, described in the maker's ledger as a “Best Quality” double barrel express finished on the 6th of November 1882. It weighed 11 1/4 pounds when it left Edinburgh and was regulated for a load of 6 3/4 drams using what the books call “solid bottle case”. If I was your age, Das Mafia, it would have just 4 years short of a century on me! |
