FYI I once had cases posted from the United States to South Australia and they were seized by customs as an illegal import, even though they were empty they are still classed as ammunition.

It can be done but a B709A temporary importation permit must be obtained beforehand and this must be pre-approved by the Police and from memmory also by the Commonwealth Attorney-General in some instances.

I had a hell of a time getting mine out of customs seeing I did not get my permit prior to the cases landing here.
