I agree, I think we (shooters/hunters) are far too quick to scope a rifle. I guess we are searching for every advantage we can get. I grew up with iron sights and moved away from them over the years. I came back to iron sights while hunting Buffalo in thick cover (Botswana) several years ago.

I live in then state of Pennsylvania where the primary game is whitetail deer and the average shot is probably less than 75 yards. 95 out of 100 rifles are scoped, why? Probably due to marketing!

Either way I'm looking forward to trying out the sights on game in August.
