Re: J.P Smithson 416 rem mag Left-hand

The rifle is built on a "Talon" action, which is pretty much a model 70 with a few Remington 700 features.

The rifles I have owned labelled "G. McMillan Gunworks" shot and worked fine, those from Harris Gunworks era - was not making me happy. Signature and Talon were nice rifles for the price. Today, Gale McMillan sons are making the McBros rifles - very nice rifles.

To make along story short - I hope I have gotten this right. It started out as McMillan Gunworks, then Gale McMillan involved some other people and latter on he left the company for reason I don't know of. Company changed owners and new investors entered, named changed to Harris Gunworks. Before the shutters went down and the production of rifles ended I think it was named Wes Harris Gunworks.

Finding spare parts for these rifles is difficult unless got a smith that can make "one off" parts.
