Virtually no chance of a malfunction on followup shot. But, most hunters who own a double also own a bolt-action. They serve different missions. I carried a bolt and double on my recent plains game hunt and used both as the shot required.

Regarding that rifle, and also a lefty, I could see it as a one gun solution.
