Re: CZ 550 416 Rigby safety issue

I think we need to make sure we are talking apples and apples. I am assuming that the CZ safety is "ON" when in the rearward position and the "FIRE" position when in the forward position, unlike the old Brno ZKK rifles.

I tried this on a CZ and indeed the safety can be place in the "ON" position when the bolt is open, albeit only just slightly in the "ON" position, not all the way rearward.

How one can inadvertentally do this is beyond me.

The bolt handle on the CZ 550 Magnums leaves something to be desired, IMO. They are too short for the thick wall on the American stock and the pear shape of the knob is hard to grip when under "sweating hands conditions." I should not admit this but I put some heat shrink rubber on the bolt knob on the Lott that I had.

When my other CZ Magnum gets back from being rebarreled it is getting a new bolt handle.
