A friend of mine bought a .375 H&H Model 70 new about a month ago and shot about a box of shells through it. He didn't think the sights were set right, so he brought it over today and we shot it on paper. By the way this was my first time shooting a rifle this big, and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. At any rate, it was shooting about 10 inches low at 25 yards. We moved the rear sight as far as it would go and it was still shooting about 7 inches low at 25 yards. We shot a full box of shells out of it... Any suggestions on fixing this? Is this a factory problem? Has anyone else had this problem? A stupid question: Is the sight picture on the express sights supposed to line up the same way as the sight picture on a regular gun? I can't see why not, but to even get the sights to line up the way they are supposed to you have to really dig your cheek into the stock, or slide you head further toward the rear of the stock. He is going bear hunting in Ontario (left today) and luckily he has a backup gun, but is very dissapointed that he will not be able to use his new gun. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, NitroSteel |
