I don't have any idea where the last post I started ended up. If it double taps please excuse me. What I was wondering... in that third from the last photo that FourBore put up it looks like a very refined version of the rifling method from the Foxfire books. Second lathe up from the bottom, tool approach from the right. Looks like a defined rifling rate guide groove on the tool carrier. As a machinist, big equipment, precision turbine millwright, powder burning, gun nut kind of guy this stuff just snaps the elastic in my socks. Kind of feeds my need for a bronze barreled rifled Parrot gun if ya know what I mean. (nudge nudge wink wink) Good job putting these photos up man! Bret |
