Good question. The previous iteration of the Winchester brand sold M70's in 458 Lott. Maybe their sales history indicates the 458 Win Mag is a better seller. Though you'd have to think the additional investment to bring the Lott to market would be very minimal.

I'm still waiting to see if they'll bring back Custom Shop offerings. At this point I doubt I'll own any more Custom Shop M70's, but I have to say the Custom African Express that used to live in my safe was one of the finest bolt guns I've ever seen. Not quite the quality of my Empires, but a damned fine rifle all the same, and far superior to the old pre-'64 African.
