Re: 416 ruger loads

Done a bit more work using 2206H powder today.
Using 77 grs 2206H and 400 gr frontiers I was able to gain just 15fps more velocity taking the average for 5 shots to 2376fps, but the grouping has improved. The pressure is starting to get up there with this load and so is the compression with the longer bullets. I am happy with how it works so will leave it at that for now till I get some different projectiles.

The surprise was with the 340gr woodleighs using 81grs 2206H I was able to get an average of 2655fps and group size for five shots was 1.184" I am happy with this load and will now go and hunt something to try the bullets on game.

"THESE ARE SAFE LOADS IN MY RIFLE ONLY PLEASE WORK UP CAREFULLY".

This is the ballistics for the 340 gr woodleighs with the average velocities I have been able to acheive. Figures are according to Hornadys ballistic calculator.
It looks like this could be a very handy hunting load.
