Which caliber are you considering for your rifle?
If your looking for a .375, it's going to be a difficult choice between the Winchester and the Ruger.

If your looking for .416 and up, than it's IMHO definitely the Ruger! .416 Rigby or .458 Lott (for Ruger) beats the .416 RemMag (for Winchester) for Dangerous Game in africa any time!

Only weak point on the Ruger (I own one myself), it's lack of aftermarket accessories. (e.g. I would love to have a rigby-style mag plate with +1 capacity for mine).
Had the action of mine bedded & worked over a little, nothing more to be done! Stock is perfect (at least for me) and the scope mount is simple but WORKS!

Annother possible alternative to consider is the CZ550:
Needs a litte reworking (diff safety & smoothing of system) & maybe a different stock (cheap & readily available), but very reliable and a great rifle for DG! Very affordable!
