Re: 400 gr Frontier Bullets in 416

G'Day Fella's

Big Jedd, and every body else, Frontier make a variety of different bullets!

I read that these Total Metal Jacketed bullets had the copper jacket, electroplated to the lead core.
I stuck one of the 300 grainers in the milling machine and started removing copper until the lead core was reached.
If I remember correctly, the jacket was only 0.015" thick.
Now I wouldn't recommend that these particular bullets be used on any large dangerous game but as you say, on smaller game they should be fine?
No Jedd I haven't shot and critters with them but I would imagine (given the jacket THINNESS) they might Rivet Up a bit, if they hit some resistance, like a pigs shoulder bones???

As to accuracy, they shoot as well as any other pill I've tried in the .375!
The only real draw back, is the nose profile of these particular bullets.
They could best be described as Semi-Wadcutters and as such, they may not feed reliably out of some a box magazine rifles?

These particular Frontiers really are good value for the money and just the ticket for Big Game Rifle competitions etc! Unfortunately, they don't make any in 0.423" and according to the factory they won't be! Bugger!!!

Hope that helps

Doh!
