Down here (downunder) it is sold as Highlander and it is generally quality ammo and components. I've used H/L ammo and brass in 357mag, 8mm, 308 and know people that have used 6.5x55 - all with favourable results. I have used Highlander factory in 375H&H but they were 270gn spitzers (I haven't tried the FMJs - didn't know these were available). I bought them mainly for the brass but they shot well. In 375, the brass OAL is short of the specs but I guess that's good since it takes a several reloads before trimming is required, but not so good if you rely on crimping and don't want to fiddle the crimping/seating die between brass types. One unusal thing - out of the 20 that I bought, 2 cases had insufficient headspace and the bolt was a very tight close - I was suprised by this and have put them aside in my scrap brass box. I guess they could be modified (file brass off the case base?) but the primer pockets would also have to be deepened, and, in my experience the primer pockets are already shallow (seated primers are no better than flush as standard). |
