Yes, it can be done. A. Ream the chamber, open the bolt face and open the extractor. That is the easy part. B. Then open the rails and (perhaps) adjust the ramp angle to achieve reliable feeding. This is the hard part. Many gunsmiths can do part A. properly. Few can do part B. properly. A slightly easier conversion would be to take a CZ in 416 Rigby and rebarrel to 460 wby. The bolt is nearly right (just tighten the extractor a bit). Screw on the new barrel and check headspace. Then open the rails a small amount. However, this causes you to have the expense of a new barrel. |
