This rifle turned out spectacular. I had a chance to handle it when it was just roughed out and all metal still in the white. I could see and feel then it was going to be a very useful rifle. If you go to the http://www.lone-star-armory.com/ web site and click on Photos, Husqvarna Model 46 9.3x57 Mauser, you can see the rifle he worked for me. A very simple but nice 1894 action husqvarna that he worked over the stock (had a nice crack behind the tang), glassed, smoothed, finished, custom two position side swing safety and left the cock on closing. I wanted the classic look to remain. He then adjusted the bolt handle to clear the scope and mounted the bases and rings. He then mounted my 2-7 leupold scope. I have taken it on one hunt. It performed flawlessly. I didn't. I've got to learn LEAD when the hog is running full boar (pun intended). Those 286 grain bullets do kick up a lot of South Texas dirt! Sounds like an intersting book too. Pass my regards to Todd from me in Alaska. |
