I used to just pile the bags high and ride with the recoil. The last time I shot though, my brother let me try his rifle rest with my .458 It has a strap in the back the stock fits into. It didn't actually move the rest that much and really let me see where that thing was hitting. Then he bought me one for Christmas, but I haven't used it yet. (too lazy to take with

) However, the next time I need to bench one of the BOOMERS I am not only going to have that with, but I'm going to put some sandbags around its base so it really stops the recoil. (the muzzle will just lift up and I'll have to re-align, but that's no biggie compared to detached retina!)
