With a 458 in 10# and change, you should have never been bothered with the recoil. How did you set up on the bench to shoot, did you hunker down low while firing it like you would shoot a varmint round? All bigger boomers must be shot with body as upright as possible. Whatever it takes to set up the bags in a hight rest is a must. Your body must be able to give with the recoil otherwise if you light off something really big, you can get seriously hurt or even get detached retinas.
