While they may not produce a hotter flame, Fed 215's produce a longer flame front - apparently. In photo tests, there was less flame from the muzzle of the test piece with Fed 215's, but they do seem ignite very slow powders more effectively than the other magnum primers, therefore the 'time span' of the flame or flash becomes important.
