Ripp - I agree that taped on drop figures are worthwhile. When I hunted with a .50 and 2-1/10".45 Rolling Blocks and 3-1/4" .45 cal. Sharps, I had the actual drop figures taped to the off side of the butt stock, so a quick check with a range finder would show me sight settings for longer shots. The saem system works extrememly well for gopher shooting with the .17's. The drop chart works well and helped me anchor a moose at a range further than I'll shoot one today with a modern rifle. I was young then. There are many things that can go wrong with long shots - wind being only one of them.
