Re: .375 H&H on SC whitetail

Way to go Bonanaza - I've a buddy up here who has used the 235gr. Speers on moose from a 9.5x68 that I chambered up for him from a .375/06IMP. At 3,100fps, they worked well on moose at 200 to 300yards. He has a pill bottle full of recovered 235's, that look picture-perfect. Every one ended up under the hide on the off side. No bones hit other than ribs. No moose needed a second shot.

In this day and age of premium bullets, we tend to overlook old-style bullets that work well indeed.

The 235, if sized down to fit a 9.3, worked very well in 9.3's, test material when driven at 2,400fps with point blank impacts. It's a great bullet at those speeds, and apparently, at the residual speed between 200 and 300 yards when started at 3,100fps.

I just checked the residual speeds of these loads and they run 2,300fps to 2,500fps, which stands to reason why they worked so well.
