Lots of unburned powder but no hangfires with 250 primers. I was trying to work-up something with what powder I had on the shelf. Back when I had my .375 double the 270 bullet recoiled the least (don't know why) so that is were I started.

I use filler in my 500/450 NE and .577 BPE, but never in a HP case.

In regards to the bullet, (one can debate this forever) I tend to shoot the heaviest practical bullet for max SD at the slowest practical velocity (for reduced recoil).

The price I pay is an atrocious ballistic arc. Max point blank range is around 180 yards.

With that said, I have no problems shooting a max load if called for.

I just got a brand new Bushnell 3200 3x10x40 for my .264 WM and look froward to seeing what those 100 grain Nosler ballistic tip will do - at 300 yards
