Jabali If you clean a gun - as you did - to the stage of dry, clean patches, then oil the gun and put it away - or leave Hoppe's or any type of cleaner or oil in the bore - and go back 2 days later, the bore will be dirty again. Steel sweats and crap comes out of the pores long after you have "cleaned" it. When in the Military, we used to clean the guns after an exercise and then a quick pull through / clean 2 days later. If you clean your gun on a COLD day, then take it inside and sit the barrel in front of the heater and heat it up for an hour, then run a patch though it, it will come out dirty. I generally leaves Hoppe's in the bore and then go back 2 days later and re patch it out and re clean the gun. That tends to get most of the crap out. Anyway, hope that helps. |
