I have a custom .458 Win Mag on a Ruger Mark I Action and it does very well with the standard length round but it will not feed the shorter rounds using 300-grain loads and must be used as a single shot. I also have a Ruger Hawkeye in .357 Ruger and I love the rifle. It is handy, accurate and powerful. Recoil is very acceptable. An outstanding big game rifle for the money.
